Windy City Golf Classic Presented by Wintrust Raises $265,000 for the American Cancer Society

Cerco Group and Golftini Leaders also Honored at 42nd Anniversary Event

Glenview, IL (July 21, 2023): The American Cancer Society (ACS) held its 42nd Annual Windy City Golf Classic with presenting sponsor Wintrust at  North Shore Country Club in Glenview, Illinois on June 26, 2023.

ACS partnered with banking organization Wintrust and honorees Joe Pesoli of Cerco Group and Susan Hess of Golftini, Inc. to bring over 175 supporters together to celebrate more than four decades of raising awareness in the fight against cancer. This year’s event supported breast cancer research with a paddle raise that contributed over $25,000. Throughout the day golfers were able to play their own ball at the renovated North Shore Country Club's golf course, one of the most prestigious country clubs in the Chicagoland area.

“I was honored to speak from my heart about fighting the fight against breast cancer,” said Susan Hess, owner and designer of Golftini, Inc.  “We enjoyed the day ‘living life’ and playing for a purpose.”

Wintrust, a banking organization based in the Chicagoland area, is proud to be a sponsor of this event.

“Through the leadership of people like Joe Pesoli and Susan Hess, we are raising critical funds to continue the fight against cancer,” shared Russ Larsen, CEO of  Village Bank & Trust, N.A., a division of Wintrust. “I view this as networking around a cause.  This was a great event where the business community gathered together, had some fun, and made a difference.”

Since the event’s inception, participants and sponsors have raised more than $3 million to fund research and patient support services. The success of this event could not be possible without individual and corporate sponsors. For more information about those sponsors, please visit  http://www.windycitygolf.org.
